I know he looks like an Oxbridge Professor’s aide, but Peafield has actually just completed a course on Japanese language at SOAS (I’m told this is a foreign language school in London). Perhaps the country’s favourite Premiership rowing team has had an influence on him though, hailing as he does from the fair county.
Peafield’s reason for being here is actually better than most. Out of all the entries, he was the overall winner of London Me Up’s ‘Write Me an Article’ competition. The standard was fierce, and competition fervent, but Peafield managed to single himself out, above all the rest, to have his ink-blotted jotter stretched out across the high standard London Me Up website for all of you lovely people to see.
I worked with Peafield for a short time earlier this year. Every time I go through an Awards cycle, I meet a lot of new temporary contract people, all making substance-less promises to stay best friends forever. Despite this, I usually manage to retain one favoured person each time. Peafield is my No.1 choice for this year, and with any luck he’ll add to his strong start and continue writing articles as good as his first; and joining us for more events.
