M’s Indie Night - Brought to you by James Youd -

Let me begin by saying that I hate writing reviews, but since it's for the LMU website and the good of mankind, I have no other alternative.

For anyone of decent mind and creed, they will know that Saturday nights are the time for letting ones hair down. I, for one, don't have any hair, so I often find myself letting the hair down on my arms. The thought of going for a few sherbets whilst enjoying the company of ones peers is full of excitement and expectation. That is, of course, if you're going anywhere but Brighton Beach in the Stylus at Leeds Uni. To me it is a mundane place. A pit, if you will, infested by self indulgent cunts discussing indie bands, hair and art films (that's just the guys). You will also discover that it takes days to get served at the bar.

At this point you may be wondering why I went to this particular venue in the first place. It was for M's birthday, so the people I went with were great, but the place itself not so much. A place with no atmosphere. Believe me when I tell (sorry, Warn) you that unless you're not an avid indie follower, you will find it difficult to lift yourself past the idea that to make this place into a good night club you would have to stick pins in your eyes.

This, at some point, becomes far more appealing.

Brighton Beach? Fuck no!
