The Grain Division - Brought to you by James Wormald -

This was an indifferent night, what LeedsMeUp was originally meant for. The shameless publication of events, places, and nights ready and available to the Leeds resident. But only the events, places and nights that we like, or are in some way, paid to like. The idea of ‘The Grain Division’ is for lots of unsigned bands to come to Carpe Diem once a month, play their hearts out. And hopefully walk out of the pub, that much closer to their dreams of Fame and Fortune (And broken legs from jumping off the stage).

The only problem for you, is that you’re not gonna know if any of the bands were any good or not. I’m writing up the event, and you see I was quite drunk when I arrived at the place, so none of the music was really going into my ears. However in terms of a review, it must have been all right. If it was terrible, I would have noticed. Let’s just say the night delivers a nice, friendly atmosphere to drink to.

That’s the review, as for the event, it was… well… and eventful one. First off, I get there, ask Sarah what’s cheap (And secondly, good) Two Screaming Orgasms are £5.50 She tells me. So off the bar I go, thinking my round is the first. Once the drinks are bought, I come back to find she’s bought the first round. Oh how silly I felt. With a serious stock saturation problem on my hands, I had to get shot of the extra booze [See what I did there]. And the best way to do that is of course to drink it. So I don’t know why in the world I chose to pour mine over Aaron, but I did.

The Universe all works out in the end though, by some bizarre twist of fate, I was drawn on in felt tip not 2 minutes later. By Aaron of all people, ‘Spooky’. Having a sudden attack of conscience, Claire takes pity over me, and writes JAMES IS LOVELY on my forehead. Or so she says. To everyone else it reads JAMES IS LONELY. Not the look I’m going for.

The rest of the night, included a mysterious balancing shot glass trick, not in any way bettered by our own attempts, and a mysterious stranger bringing mysterious cake? Hmmm?

Mine soaked in Gin and Cranberry Juice.

The walk home? A cold one, next time take a coat if you can be bothered. If not, be cold.
